Refined Nets

After doing my net development I decided on the shape that I wanted to take forward. I want for the curved pyramid, this shape is very different and I didn't really want straight and boring lines. I want to go from something that is elegant and something that you'd like to look at over and over again.

I have designed several different nets with the same base shape but have added extra pieces to make the overall idea more exciting and something that you'd like to look at and fiddle with.

At first I took the basic net that I started with a chose to add some out side piece to form a slight flower shape, giving the original net a bit more body.

As we have to incorporate 4 key pieces of information into our net I decided that I didn't want these to be easily seen so I thought about adding pieces of curled paper onto the inside which when pulled apart would be able to reveal some of my information.

I added small items into the centre of the pyramid one to see what it would look like having something in the centre and seeing whether I could add that to my final design as I would like lots of different flaps and areas to my net to work on the 'opening experience' as that is something I'd like to focus on. The inner row of curled paper I feel isn't in tight enough meaning you can easily see what is in the centre, but this isn't a totally bad thing as it means people will defiantly open it up and move the pieces.

My third idea was also having piece of paper in the centre of the pyramid but having then facing inwards and then making sure you are able to lift them up a bit like in my first design to revel something. I think the triangles need to be smaller so the stick upwards more making people want to lift them up rather than having them resting on the bottom when you open the pyramid up. So more like a pop up.
