Kirsten Hassenfield is an artist from New York and most of her work is created from paper. The piece of her work that court my eye was her paper handing installations and sculptures.
Her work is created from thin translucent pieces of paper. One of her works is named 'Dans La Lune' meaning daydreaming. Each piece she has hand cut, folded and curved.
She has also been known for her large jewellery pieces, creating jewel shapes from paper. With the used of very fine paper she is able to use light to give the impression that the pieces are shining like real jewels would.
The way Hassenfield has been able to make a simple piece of paper look important and worth something I find really interesting, she has made it into a wonderful piece of work that you can't stop looking at and it really draws you eye and each time you look you find something new.
